Being a proud Microsoft Partner, we look forward to attending Microsoft Inspire. Due to social distancing restrictions, this year Microsoft threw their first-ever digital-only Microsoft Inspire event.

As ever Microsoft gave us insight to some promising new releases. There were updates for almost all Microsoft products including Azure, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365 and much more.

Up-Coming Features
TEAMS UPDATES

Walkie Talkie feature – company or employee-owned Android phones can act as walkie-talkies over the cloud, reducing the amount of gear an employee must carry.

Teams Rooms – a centre of room conferencing system for facilitating meetings locally and remotely.

Power BI integration – access and view Power BI reports directly within Teams. The app also allows for report sharing and automation.  


AZURE UPDATES

Azure Stack HCI – the latest in Microsoft’s hybrid portfolio and now in public preview, brings hybrid capabilities to customers’ datacentre while enabling them to leverage existing skills and investments.

Azure Migrate enhancements – Azure Migrate, Microsoft’s migration tool has seen forward-thinking updates. Updates that combine features of the Microsoft Planning & Assessment Toolkit. Users can now conduct datacentre assessments, including import and evaluation capabilities, using the uploaded database and support for Azure VMware configuration management. 

Azure Blob Storage – a few updates, including the Last Access feature. This has been subject to another positive change that now provides companies with more insight into their data, including the built-in feature which provides information on how frequently data is accessed.  

OTHER UPDATES

M365 Data Loss Prevention feature – enable companies to shield and identify business-critical data. How Microsoft services can assist with remote working capabilities.

Microsoft Playbooks – designed to help partners analyse, develop and manage secure cloud practices built to last.​​​​​​​

Power Platform – can help bring employees back to the workplace safely by enabling customers with Location Readiness, Employee Health and Safety Management, Workplace Care Management and Location Management tools.
