Hi there! We’re AJT Managed IT Services and we help Sussex-based companies do better business. If you’re looking for secure IT systems backed by proactive in-person support to minimise downtime and protect your data, we’re the partner for you.

AJT Managed IT Services’ story

Founded in 2019, AJT Managed IT Services was the brainchild of our now Managing Director, Russell Walker. An engineer who’s worked in the SMB IT support sector since 1999, Russell has 25+ years experience in the industry. Drawing on his knowledge from working at Managed Service Providers in the UK & abroad, he wanted to create a brand new MSP that delivers what clients want: peace of mind from secure IT systems backed by friendly, expert support.

AJT Managed IT Services: Part of the AJ Taylor family

Around the same time, long-established Brighton-based electrical contractors AJ Taylor were considering alternative options for their IT provider. Friends for years, Luke from the electrical business approached Russell for help. Thanks to the synergies across the two businesses – you can’t have IT without electricity – the decision was made for AJ Taylor Electrical to support Russ’ new IT services business, with them as his first client. And so AJT Managed IT Services was born.

1 year later, Matt Artley joins Russell, bringing with him another 15 years of on-the-ground IT support experience from his work at agencies, MSPs and as a self-employed IT consultant. As Technical Director, Matt is passionate about serving local Sussex-based businesses and is a huge advocate of onsite technical visits to create the most effective IT solutions. 

In 2023, Neil Wilson joined the AJT team as Technical Manager. Neil’s always had a passion for computing – he built his first computer from scratch when he was just 15 – and has honed his people skills through working as a teacher. This combo of IT expertise and approachability makes him the perfect fit for AJT and our clients.

Today, Russell, Matt and Neil are supported by a team of helpdesk engineers. Together, the team pride themselves on providing quick, no-nonsense support and, most importantly, getting things fixed the first time.
